All Subaru MT cars (except the BRZ) should have hill holder by default. Many people have the dealer turn it off because it is annoying to the seasoned stick-shift driver.
WebFeb 28, 2009 · I know hill holder in manual transmissions work using the brake and therefore puts no stress on the transmission, the car senses the incline and activates the brakes until it knows you're accelerating. Is this how ours work or is it a transmission issue to be avoided as 300ce stated? I'm not sure why it would be on the car if could cause damage.
