Firm to me means more of a jarring feeling due to faster dampening effect when going over a bump. All my RFY's were round Eye type ends no clevis type. Be aware they are a short stroke for there length so you only get 3 inches of shock movement but depending on the motion ratio of the swing arm that can be just fine. Sh00bs New Reader.

You might be better off looking at a matched suspension by EFS or the like that may give you the lift as well as a more comfortable ride. Cheers. The solution is a good quality off-road shock with reinforced shock towers. It would be best to consider replacing the tie rods as the standard components will not be strong enough for off-road use.
